Hang Seng Bank to report 2008 earnings results todayPublished: 02 Mar 2009 00:00:00 PST<p class="authorInfor"]</p]<!--begin CK content--]<P]Mar. 2, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Hang Seng Bank<11>, 62% held by HSBC Holdings Plc<5>, is likely to post net profit of HK$15.58 billion for 2008, down 14.58% year on year, the Standard reported, citing 18 brokers polled by Thomson Reuters.</P]<P]The figure is more favorable compared with its parent, said analysts, adding the result is mainly contributed by its focus on local operations and limited exposure to toxic investments.</P]<P]The bank's final dividend is expected to be flat at HK$6.30 per share in 2008, according to analysts. </P]<P]In addition, Hang Seng Bank is also expected to announce today the retirement of Raymond Or Ching-fai as chief executive and vice chairman in May.</P]<P]Shares of the bank edged up 0.93% to close at HK$87 last Friday.<BR]</P]
