Hubei sees auto output exceed 1 mln units in Jan-NovPublished: 16 Dec 2009 19:51:16 PST<p class="authorInfor"]</p]<!--begin CK content--]<ul class="narrow"]More From ChinaKnowledge.comChina Economy DataChina Business GuideChina DemographicChina Industrial ParksChina Financial Market<P]Dec. 17, 2009 (China Knowledge) - The auto output in Hubei Province, central China exceeded 1 million units in the first 11 months of this year, according to statistics from the provincial bureau of statistics.</P]<P]During the period from January to November, 1.06 million automobiles were produced in the province, up 31.6% from the same period of last year. The figure is also 212,000 units more than the output in 2008. </P]<P]Output of passenger cars surged 40.06% year on year in the 11-month period, hitting 526,200 units, of which 431,300 were sedans. Boosted by tax cuts on low-emission cars, output of sedans with displacement below 1.6 L reached 231,200 units, up 69.6% from the same period of last year.</P]<P]In November alone, Hubei produced 122,900 autos, up 90.4% from a year ago. </P]<P]Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co Ltd, one of the two major auto enterprises in Hubei, produced 27,073 cars last month, 2.65 times the output in November 2008, and the firm sold 27,509 units in the month.<BR]</P]
