 TAIPEI, March 6  - The Taiwan dollar <TWD=TP> waslittle changed on Friday ahead of more economic data, such asU.S. non-farm payrolls and Taiwan's exports data, thoughexporters provided some support.</p]                                
 The Taiwan dollar, which had been in and out of positiveterritory during the session, firmed slightly to T$34.924 to theU.S. dollar by 0228 GMT from the previous close of T$34.945, itshighest finish since Feb. 26.</p]                                
 Volume on the main Taipei Forex Inc exchange was moderate at$180 million after an hour and 30 minutes of trade.</p]                                
 "Some people are not too keen on trading as they are waitingfor more data, especially U.S. non-farm payrolls and Taiwan'sexports," said a dealer in Taipei.</p]                                
 The United States is due to announce jobs data at 1330 GMT,while Taiwan will release trade data on Monday.</p]                                
 Economists expect the United States to lose 648,000 jobs inFebruary after 598,000 positions were gone in January, with theunemployment rate surging to a 25-year high of 7.9 percent from7.6 percent the previous month.</p]                                
 In Taiwan, a Reuters poll showed that exports in Februarylikely fell 25.2 percent from a year earlier, their sixthstraight drop as consumers slash spending amid the globaldownturn, possibly pushing the island deeper into recession.</p]                                
 Exporters offered U.S. dollars at around $34.980, which gavethe Taiwan dollar some support.</p]
