JAKARTA， March 17 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government has accelerated preparations for the Asian Paragames to be held next year in the county， a minister said here on Friday.


"Indonesia is seriously carrying out preparation for the Asian Paragames，" Indonesian Sport Minister Imam Nahrawi said after receiving delegates of Asian Paragames Committee (APC) at the sport ministry office.


The Asia Paragames will be held in Indonesia's capital of Jakarta in October 2018， the minister revealed.


Indonesia has proposed 17 sports for the regional sporting event， according to Bayu Rahardian， assistant deputy for traditional sport and special services at the ministry. 


MOSCOW， Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Russia has opened an alternative event for national Paralympians banned from the Paralympic Games in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro， the Russian news agency TASS reported Wednesday.


"The Paralympic sports in Russia will continue receiving support， attention and care on behalf of the authorities，" Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said at an official opening ceremony of the alternative games organized by the Russian authorities outside Moscow.


According to the agency， 263 athletes are taking part in the event， competing in 18 sports.


"We are all sending our sincere greetings to the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro since we are all brothers and sisters and in the Paralympic family and wish that the Games there will be good，" the RPC (Russian Paralympic Committee) president Vladimir Lukin was quoted as saying.


On August 7， the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) decided to bar the whole Russian Paralympic team from taking part in the 2016 Summer Paralympics.


Russian President Vladimir Putin announced last week that Russia would organize alternative competitive events on Sept. 8-9， for the barred Russian Paralympic team and the awards for the Paralympians would be equal to those promised at the 2016 Rio Games. Enditem


PARIS Nike Air Force 1 Shoes , June 29 (Xinhua) -- Louis Nicollin, the founding father and president of Ligue 1 club Montpellier, on Thursday died on his 74th birthday.


"It is with immense sadness that we have learnt the death of our president Louis Nicollin on June 29," tweeted the Montpellier club at 6:52 p.m. on Thursday.


It was reported that Nicollin fell down during a family dinner in a restaurant, before he died in a hospital.


Nicollin suffered a heart attack when he was in a restaurant in Garons to celebrate his 74th birthday Nike Air Force 1 Wheat , and died around 6 p.m. in a hospital in Nimes, Le Parisien reported.


Nicollin, who started from scratch on household and industrial waste collection and reprocessing, set up Montpellier Paillade Sport Club in 1974. The club was later officially named Montpellier Herault Sport Club, and Nicollin became the sole shareholder.

Djokovic, who also won at Shanghai in 2008, extended his winning streak at the tournament to 14 matches.
